Bits for Baby

Well, baby is coming soon, so I've been working on a few bits for baby - not too much, but just some little things.  Since we don't know if baby will be a boy or a girl, it's hard to know what colours will be suitable, so I've chosen a beautiful red and a milk chocolate brown to make some jumpers (sweaters)  An October baby will certainly need the warmth!

Stitch Markers

I have found myself in need of some stitch markers for an upcoming project, so I pulled out my beads and wire and the children and I set to work, creating some one-of-a-kind knitting and crocheting stitch markers. We tried a few different styles, and had such fun!  I'm very pleased with the results, and I look forward to using this "yarn jewellery" on my projects!

Earrings!

I've been inspired to make some pretty little things - earrings seem like the perfect thing to try!  I used several different patterns (all free)   Some turned out better then others, but overall, I'm quite pleased!  They white ones are crochet cotton, the coloured ones are mainly embroidery floss.

Painting Blanks!

The children and I had great fun painting blanks yesterday!  I think they turned out rather well.  My eldest has done this before, but it was a new experience for the younger two - they're begging to try it again, but Daddy says "no more yarn" until we've used some of what we already have!  Too bad it's not as quick to knit it up as it is to paint!
